W. Gymnastics. Nowak and Ferguson Win Weekly Awards
University of Oklahoma gymnasts Kayla Nowak and Megan Ferguson won two of the three Big 12 weekly awards for March 6, Nowak was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week while Ferguson earned her fifth straight Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week award, announced by the league Tuesday. Nowak was named Gymnast of the Week after scoring a career-high-tying 39.375 in her first all-around competition of the season. Nowak stepped in on vault at the last minute and posted a season-high 9.8, while adding season-highs of 9.75 on both bars and floor.
