Jaya Bachchan was recently front row and centre of a storm in the Parliament when Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde made derogatory remarks about her. It all started when Jaya Bachchan wanted an explanation as to why no action had been taken about the Assam violence from the Home Minister. He in turn told her it was a serious matter and not a film script! This resulted in the whole house erupting with Arun Jaitley demanding an apology immediately. Shushil Kumar Shinde said that he was sorry if his comments insulted Jaya Bachchan and that she was his sister. Looks like half the time MPs are dealing with their own huge egos instead of doing any constructive work. And perhaps they should elect well read qualified people instead of old farts who cannot see beyond their mammoth egos.
